As we previously reported to you, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) published proposed regulations and related materials in support of the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) back on August 11, 2023. Check out our prior blogs about this linked here:

The proposed regulations are very thorough and comprehensive, 275 pages in fact, and we have been working very hard since they came out.
Reliance Matrix submitted comments to the proposed rules. Also, Reliance Matrix, in anticipation of publication of the final rules, has been working on a detailed whitepaper addressing how employers can comply and issue spot the various laws pertaining to employees impacted by pregnancy.
The Reliance Matrix whitepaper will not only dive into the PWFA and its corresponding regulations, but also will include information discussing state and federal laws that impact employees who are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or recently gave birth. Stay tuned as we expect this will be ready in early 2024!
With respect to the PWFA, we still anticipate that the EEOC will publish the final regulations on or before the statutory deadline of December 29, 2023. BUT we are getting so excited waiting and counting down the days. It is like waiting for Christmas morning!
